THE ROLE OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION IN FORMING STUDENTS' CHARACTER AND MORALS

Abstract


Pendidikan agama Islam memainkan peran yang sangat penting dalam pembentukan karakter dan moral peserta didik, yang mencakup aspek spiritual, etika, dan perilaku sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran pendidikan agama Islam dalam membentuk karakter dan moral siswa serta memberikan pemahaman tentang kontribusinya dalam menciptakan generasi yang disiplin, peduli sosial, dan toleran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kajian literatur dengan menganalisis berbagai sumber terkait peran pendidikan agama Islam, seperti ajaran Al-Qur'an dan Hadis, serta praktik ibadah dalam membentuk moralitas siswa. Hasil yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini adalah bahwa pendidikan agama Islam tidak hanya memberikan nilai-nilai keagamaan tetapi juga membentuk karakter siswa melalui praktik ibadah, pengembangan kesadaran sosial, dan pendidikan toleransi di masyarakat multikultural. Kesimpulannya, pendidikan agama Islam memiliki potensi besar untuk membentuk karakter moral siswa dengan mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai agama dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, serta membekali mereka dengan kemampuan menghadapi tantangan sosial dan globalisasi. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan agama Islam perlu dioptimalkan untuk menciptakan individu yang berkepribadian baik dan siap menghadapi perkembangan zaman.
