Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of coping strategies, consisting of confrontive coping, planful problem-solving, and seeking social support, on coping stress in philanthropic institutions in Indonesia. The research method used is a quantitative approach with Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis techniques. The results showed that the three coping strategies have a significant influence on coping stress. Confrontive coping has a positive and significant effect on coping stress (T-Statistics = 6.763; P-Values = 0.000), indicating that individuals who face problems directly are better able to manage stress. Planful problem-solving also has a significant effect (T-Statistics = 5.358; P-Values = 0.000), which means that planned problem solving helps individuals deal with stress more effectively. In addition, seeking social support has also been shown to have a positive effect on coping stress (T-Statistics = 5.458; P-Values = 0.000), confirming that social support from the surrounding environment can improve an individual's ability to manage stress. The R-Square value of 0.856 indicates that 85.6% of the variance in coping stress can be explained by coping strategies, while the remaining 14.4% is influenced by other factors not included in the research model. In addition, the Goodness of Fit (GoF) analysis shows a value of 0.698, indicating that this research model has very good predictive power. The results of this study confirm that effective coping strategies are very important in helping individuals deal with work stress in philanthropic institutions. Therefore, strengthening coping mechanisms, either through stress-management skills training or increasing social support in the organization, needs to be considered to improve the psychological well-being of individuals in the work environment.
