Development Of A Web-Based School Financial Management Information System (Sipks) With Dynamic Role-Based Access Control Using Laravel Framework

Abstract

The management of school financial administration is a vital component in supporting the operational integrity and accountability of educational institutions. However, at SMK Nasyrul Ulum Gegesik, recording financial transactions—such as tuition fee (SPP) payments, cash receipts, and operational expenditures—previously relied on conventional or semi-manual processes. This approach posed challenges including slow transaction verification, potential data redundancy, difficulties in cash book reconciliation, and delays in generating periodic financial reports for school management. This study aims to design and implement a web-based School Financial Management Information System (SIPKS) to enhance efficiency, transparency, and reporting accuracy. The system was developed utilizing the Waterfall Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model, powered by the Laravel framework, PHP programming language, and a MySQL database. Key features include tuition fee tracking, cash book management, income and expenditure categorization, automated receipt printing, periodic financial reporting, and activity logging for audit trails. Functional testing was conducted using the Black-Box testing method. The implementation results demonstrate that the system operates effectively, streamlining the workflow for administrative and treasury staff while delivering accurate, real-time financial reporting.
