Abstract

Alternative Method in Medical Anatomy Learning

Abstract: Anatomy is the basic science of medicine that must be given to medical students. The changes in the curriculum of medical education from the conventional method approach to competency-based curriculum (CBC) impact on learning anatomy in both the reduction of the allocation of time and learning model. Until now there has been no national uniformity in curriculum materials and teaching models anatomy in Indonesia and cadaver is still a major learning tool for medical students in Indonesia. This objective of this paper is to provide new insights about using alternative methods in teaching and learning anatomy that can be applied to undergraduate medical school students in Indonesian. Literature review. Some learning models developed include: plastinated specimen, surface and living anatomy, radioimaging, artificial and virtual anatomy. Conclusions, Anatomy is a basic and important course for medical students. We can use alternatif method in teachng anatomy, i.e using plastination specimen, surface and living anatomy, radioimaging, artificial and virtual anatomy for medical anatomy education

Keywords: anatomy, plastination, living anatomy, radioimaging.
