The Influence Of Use Of Whiteboard Media On Reading Skills In Class III Students Of Muhammadiyah 36 Medan Integrated Primary School

Abstract


Education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential to have spiritual strength, religion, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble character, and skills needed by themselves and society. Reading is an integrated activity that includes several activities such as recognizing letters and words connecting them with sound and meaning, and drawing conclusions about the meaning of reading. Reading is an effective learning tool because it gives a student the power to make the right decisions in improving the learning and thinking process. Learning media is any form of tool or material used for the learning process to help students understand the material. Whiteboard media makes one of the learning aids commonly used in the classroom. Utilization of this media in learning can help students understand concepts in a more visual and interactive way. The research used is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. Quantitative research is research in the form of numbers and analyzed statistically. And using a correlational approach. Therefore, quantitative research in this study was used to analyze data and determine the effect of using whiteboard media on reading skills in third grade students of Integrated Elementary School Muhammadiyah 36 Medan. The data obtained in this study were taken from the tabulation of questionnaire scores from 20 questionnaire statements distributed to students tested on fifth grade students of Integrated Elementary School Muhammadiyah 36 Medan. In the results there were changes in the ability of reading comprehension skills after the use of blackboard media in Indonesian language learning. To calculate the hypothesis in this study by looking at the significance value.
