Plagiarism Screening
Every submitted manuscript will be checked for similarity using an appropriate plagiarism detection tool before proceeding to the peer-review process. The screening is conducted to identify potential plagiarism, excessive similarity, duplicate publication, and inappropriate reuse of previously published material.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and that all ideas, statements, data, quotations, and materials derived from other sources are appropriately acknowledged and cited.
Similarity Threshold
The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%.
Manuscripts with a similarity index of 20% or below may proceed to the next stage of the editorial process, subject to the editor's assessment of the sources and nature of the similarities identified.
A similarity index above 20% may result in the manuscript being returned to the authors for revision, clarification, or further editorial assessment. The authors may be required to revise the manuscript and properly acknowledge or cite the relevant sources before the manuscript can proceed to peer review.
Editorial Assessment
The similarity percentage is not the sole basis for determining plagiarism. The editor will examine the similarity report to determine whether the identified similarities result from legitimate quotations, references, commonly used terminology, methodological descriptions, institutional names, or other acceptable similarities.
Conversely, a similarity index below 20% does not automatically guarantee that a manuscript is free from plagiarism. Any evidence of substantial unattributed copying, regardless of the overall similarity percentage, may be treated as a potential publication ethics violation.
Excessive Similarity and Plagiarism
If substantial plagiarism, duplicate publication, self-plagiarism, or inappropriate reuse of previously published material is identified, the journal may request an explanation from the authors and conduct further investigation.
Depending on the severity of the violation and the stage of the publication process, the journal may take appropriate action, including manuscript revision, rejection, termination of the review process, withdrawal of an editorial decision, publication of a correction or Expression of Concern, or retraction of a published article.
Authors' Responsibility
Authors are fully responsible for ensuring the originality of their submitted manuscripts. All sources, quotations, ideas, data, and previously published materials used in the manuscript must be properly acknowledged and cited.
Authors should conduct their own plagiarism screening before submission and make the necessary revisions to ensure that the manuscript complies with the journal's maximum similarity threshold of 20%.
Policy Review
This Plagiarism Check Policy may be reviewed and updated periodically in accordance with developments in plagiarism detection technology, academic integrity standards, and publication ethics practices.
