Olahraga Sebagai Intervensi Non-Farmakologis Pada Lansia
Abstract
Abstrak: Peningkatan populasi lansia global mengalami tantangan kesehatan, termasuk penurunan fungsi fisik, kognitif, dan kualitas hidup. Aktivitas fisik teratur, seperti functional training (FT) dan latihan aerobik, terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kekuatan otot, keseimbangan, fleksibilitas, dan kebugaran kardiorespirasi. Program ini mendukung kemandirian lansia dalam aktivitas sehari-hari serta mengurangi risiko jatuh hingga 50%. Selain itu, latihan aerobik intensitas ringan hingga sedang dapat memperbaiki fungsi kognitif, termasuk daya ingat dan konsentrasi, serta menurunkan risiko gangguan kognitif. Olahraga juga berkontribusi pada peningkatan kesehatan mental dengan mengurangi stres dan depresi melalui peningkatan aliran darah otak dan stabilitas emosional. Studi menunjukkan bahwa olahraga memiliki efektivitas yang sebanding dengan antidepresan pada lansia yang rentan. Dengan manfaat multidimensi ini, olahraga menjadi intervensi non-farmakologis yang penting untuk meningkatkan kesehatan fisik dan mental lansia serta kualitas hidup mereka secara keseluruhan.
