ISLAMIC THOUGHT AS A FRAMWORK FOR ENHANCING WRITING SKILLS IN HIGHER EDUCATION
Abstract
Students' intellectual, moral, and spiritual development is greatly influenced by Islamic character education, especially in higher education. This essay explores how Islamic character education shapes students' Islamic thinking and how it can be methodically included as a framework to improve university-level academic writing abilities. This study investigates the connection between Islamic beliefs, critical thinking, and writing proficiency using a conceptual and qualitative literature-based methodology. The results show that Islamic character education promotes structured reasoning, introspective thinking, and disciplined expression—all essential elements of successful academic writing in addition to strengthening ethical awareness and worldview coherence. In order to produce graduates who are morally and intellectually grounded, the paper suggests an integrative paradigm that unifies Islamic epistemology, character development, and writing instruction. In addition to offering useful recommendations for curriculum development in Islamic and mainstream higher education institutions, this study adds to the conversation on value-based education.
