Comparative Analysis of Astrophotography Performance Across Various Smartphone Brands
Abstract
This research focuses on the results of astrophotography using the average pixel intensity (mean) value to measure the impact of night sky brightness. This approach is explained using photos taken with a Samsung S21FE and a Poco X6 as examples. The mean value determines the lightness or darkness of an image and serves as a standard for assessing the impact of light pollution on astrophotography. The analysis shows that the image taken with the Samsung S21FE has a mean value of 48.852, indicating a higher brightness level compared to the Poco X6, which has a mean value of 30.399. This difference suggests that the image taken with the Samsung S21FE is likely more susceptible to environmental lighting effects. By understanding this mean value, a photographer can determine the optimal time, place, and position for photographing the sky to avoid light interference and optimize the results.
