Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

ETLiJ welcomes submissions from around the world as well as from Asia. Manuscript must be written in a proper English.

  1. The author(s) must use the ETLiJ guide (download) as template.
  2. Articles must be typewritten on A4-Sized white paper (8.27” x 11.69”), 1,5 space with 1” margins with a 12-pt Times New Roman font. Texts should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words in length. A word-count should be given at the end of the article. The word-count should include abstracts, tables, and appendices.
  3. All submissions should conform to the APA style (Sixth Edition)
  4. Submit the manuscript as an e-mail attachment that exactly matches the hardcopy and formatted as a Microsoft Word document. Identify your paper with your name and affiliation, e.g., Lesmana_UMSU.doc. Do not send your text in the body of the e-mail.
  5. Exact corresponding address of the author should be identified (also with fax or contact number). In the case of multiple authorship, full postal addresses must be given for all co-authors. Names will appear in the order in which the corresponding authors give them, even if that order is not alphabetical.
  6. Authors of articles should include a brief biographical statement (in sentence form) and any special acknowledgement that would like to include.
  7. Manuscript should not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication elsewhere in any form.
  8. Submitted manuscript will be screened for possible unoriginal work/plagiarism.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
 

Copyright Notice

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
  3. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work
