Optimalisasi Mutu Pendidikan Melalui Implementasi Fungsi Manajemen Sekolah: Studi Kasus di SD Negeri Krapyak Kota Semarang

Abstract


This research focuses on the implementation of school management in the effort to enhance educational quality at SD Negeri Krapyak, Semarang City. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation studies involving the school principal, teachers, school committee, and students. The findings indicate that school management functions—encompassing planning, organizing, actuating, and evaluating—have been systematically and collaboratively executed. The principal plays a crucial role as a transformational leader, fostering innovation and active participation from all school stakeholders. Quality improvement programs, such as literacy reinforcement, project-based learning, and student character development, are consistently implemented. Nevertheless, the study also identifies several challenges, including limited facilities, varied teacher ICT competencies, and sub-optimal parental participation. Despite these challenges, a commitment to continuous evaluation and collaboration among stakeholders stands as the school's primary strength in addressing educational quality issues. The conclusion of this research affirms that data-driven, collaborative school management supported by participatory leadership is an essential pillar in improving quality at the basic education level
