Inovasi Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah dalam Membangun Kemitraan dengan Orang Tua: (Studi Kasus di SDN Goa Jereweh Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat)

Abstract

The principal’s leadership is a key factor in creating a collaborative and inclusive educational ecosystem. This study aims to analyze the forms of leadership innovation applied by the principal in building partnerships with parents at SDN Goa Jereweh, West Sumbawa Regency. This research employed a qualitative case study approach with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings show that the principal of SDN Goa Jereweh, West Sumbawa Regency, developed transformative, participatory, and cultural leadership models. Through transformational leadership, the principal fostered collaboration with parents by utilizing digital communication (WhatsApp, e-mail, Facebook, Instagram). Participatory leadership was implemented by involving parents in deliberation forums, supervising students’ evening study hours, conducting home visits, and making decisions collectively. Meanwhile, cultural leadership strengthened the foundation of cultural values and local wisdom by integrating them into the curriculum as a strong bridge of relationships and shared responsibility in developing an inclusive school culture. This study also identified obstacles such as a school culture that tends to remain traditional and resistant to change, low parental participation, teachers’ heavy administrative workload, lack of training, and limited supporting facilities. However, the study emphasizes that principal leadership innovation plays an important role in building productive synergy, increasing participatory collaboration culture by 85%, enhancing teacher and staff capacity/competence, improving learning motivation, and strengthening the positive image of school–parent partnerships.
