Aida Fitrianti, Amirudin Amirudin, Iqbal Amar Muzaki

Abstract

This study aims to determine the perceptions and efforts of Islamic Religious Education students at Singaperbangsa Karawang University in 2018 towards the rise of LGBT in Indonesia. And to educate the public about the definition, impact, and law of LGBT according to Islam. The research method used is qualitative, an approach or search to investigate and understand a central phenomenon. To understand and understand the central phenomenon, the researcher conducted a question and answer session or what is commonly referred to as an interview with the respondent by asking several questions that tend to be general and rather broad. The results obtained by the researchers after conducting interviews were that the first, PAI students' perceptions of LGBT were contradictory. Then the second PAI students did not agree that LGBT was normalized in Indonesia, both formally (legalized by the government) and non-formally (considered normal by the community). The third is the efforts of PAI students in minimizing LGBT in Indonesia, namely by providing education to the public directly or indirectly.
