Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a significant influence of the Socio-Scientific Issues-Based Pancasila Learning Approach on Increasing Environmental Awareness of Students at SMP Negeri 2 Takengon. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach. A quantitative approach is a study whose research data is in the form of numbers and is analyzed using statistics. The choice of this approach is based on the consideration that the researcher wants to see whether there is a significant influence on students' environmental awareness attitudes before and after the implementation of Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI)-based Pancasila learning at SMP Negeri 2 Takengon. The results of the study stated that at a significant level of α = 0.05, tcount = 4.57 and ttable = 2.011 were obtained, and this means that because –ttable < tcount > ttable, namely -2.011 < 4.57 > 2.011, it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted: namely "There is a strong and significant influence from the application of the Pancasila learning approach based on Socio-Scientific Issues in increasing students' caring attitudes towards the environment at SMP Negeri 2 Takengon.
