Analisis Implementasi Gerakan Disiplin Positif dalam Membentuk Karakter Mandiri Peserta Didik di SMA Negeri 3 Rantau Utara

Abstract


Abstract: This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Positive Discipline Movement in shaping students' independent character at SMAN 3 Rantau Utara. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to comprehensively describe the process and impact of positive discipline implementation in learning activities. Data were collected through direct observation of tenth-grade students using an assessment instrument covering five main aspects: compliance with rules, attitude toward teachers, responsibility, cooperation, and self-control. The results indicate that the implementation of positive discipline has a significant impact on the development of students' independent character. The aspect of students’ attitudes toward teachers is categorized as very good through the consistent application of the 5S culture. Meanwhile, compliance with rules, responsibility, and cooperation fall into the good category, indicating that most students demonstrate disciplined and responsible behavior. However, the self-control aspect is still categorized as sufficient, requiring further reinforcement in developing students' self-regulation. It can be concluded that positive discipline is effective in shaping students’ independent character, but it requires consistent implementation, continuous positive reinforcement, and more varied and adaptive classroom management strategies.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi Gerakan Disiplin Positif dalam membentuk karakter mandiri peserta didik di SMAN 3 Rantau Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif guna menggambarkan secara komprehensif proses dan dampak penerapan disiplin positif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung terhadap peserta didik kelas X dengan menggunakan instrumen penilaian yang mencakup lima aspek utama, yaitu kepatuhan terhadap aturan, sikap terhadap guru, tanggung jawab, kerja sama, dan kontrol diri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi disiplin positif memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap pembentukan karakter mandiri peserta didik. Aspek sikap terhadap guru berada pada kategori sangat baik melalui penerapan budaya 5S secara konsisten. Sementara itu, aspek kepatuhan terhadap aturan, tanggung jawab, dan kerja sama berada pada kategori baik, yang menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar peserta didik telah mampu menunjukkan perilaku disiplin dan tanggung jawab. Namun demikian, aspek kontrol diri masih berada pada kategori cukup, sehingga memerlukan penguatan lebih lanjut dalam pengembangan regulasi diri peserta didik. Disimpulkan bahwa disiplin positif efektif dalam membentuk karakter mandiri peserta didik, tetapi memerlukan konsistensi implementasi, penguatan positif yang berkelanjutan, serta strategi pengelolaan kelas yang lebih variatif dan adaptif.
