Penguatan Karakter Kerja Sama melalui Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan sebagai Upaya Pembentukan Warga Negara yang Demokratis

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the strengthening of cooperative character through Citizenship Education (PPKn) as an effort to form democratic citizens. The approach used was qualitative with a case study design in a secondary school environment. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that strengthening cooperative character is carried out through the integration of values in lesson planning, the implementation of collaborative learning models such as group discussions and problem-based learning, and the habituation of a school culture based on mutual cooperation. The findings also indicate that PPKn serves as a space for democratic practice that allows students to develop attitudes of tolerance, participation, and social responsibility. However, challenges remain in the form of inequality in student participation and a tendency towards individualism. Therefore, strengthening cooperative character requires a consistent learning strategy and a supportive school environment. In conclusion, PPKn has a strategic role in forming democratic citizens who are able to cooperate in social life.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penguatan karakter kerja sama melalui Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn) sebagai upaya pembentukan warga negara yang demokratis. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus pada lingkungan sekolah menengah. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles, Huberman, dan Saldaña yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguatan karakter kerja sama dilakukan melalui integrasi nilai dalam perencanaan pembelajaran, penerapan model pembelajaran kolaboratif seperti diskusi kelompok dan problem-based learning, serta pembiasaan budaya sekolah berbasis gotong royong. Temuan juga menunjukkan bahwa PPKn berperan sebagai ruang praktik demokrasi yang memungkinkan peserta didik mengembangkan sikap toleransi, partisipasi, dan tanggung jawab sosial. Namun demikian, masih ditemukan tantangan berupa ketimpangan partisipasi siswa dan kecenderungan individualisme. Oleh karena itu, penguatan karakter kerja sama membutuhkan strategi pembelajaran yang konsisten dan lingkungan sekolah yang suportif. Kesimpulannya, PPKn memiliki peran strategis dalam membentuk warga negara demokratis yang mampu bekerja sama dalam kehidupan sosial.
