Spiritual Economic Dynamics: A Nonlinear ODE Model of Giving, Faith, and Wealth Growth with Threshold Transition from Give to Take

Abstract


This study develops a nonlinear mathematical framework to explain the dynamic relationship between giving, faith, and wealth growth. In classical economics, giving is generally viewed as a reduction of individual wealth, whereas spiritual perspectives regard giving as a mechanism capable of generating long-term prosperity and social value. This contrast motivates the need for a formal dynamic model explaining how giving may transition from short-term sacrifice to long-term accumulation. The proposed framework employs a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) involving three endogenous variables: wealth, giving, and faith. The model is analyzed through equilibrium point derivation, Jacobian–eigenvalue stability analysis, and threshold condition identification, while numerical simulations are conducted using the fourth-order Runge–Kutta (RK4) method under several parameter scenarios. The results indicate the existence of a non-trivial positive equilibrium, showing that giving, faith, and wealth can coexist in a stable long-run system. A threshold mechanism is identified in which the system transitions from the Give regime to the Take regime once the productive effects of giving exceed economic friction. Simulation results further demonstrate that faith and sincerity significantly influence growth trajectories and long-run system stability. These findings suggest that giving may function not only as a moral action, but also as a dynamic driver of sustainable wealth growth, thereby contributing a new interdisciplinary perspective to nonlinear economics and spiritual wealth dynamics.
