Review Guidelines
Intiqad: Jurnal Agama dan Pendidikan Islam
Intiqad: Jurnal Agama dan Pendidikan Islam applies a peer-review process to evaluate the quality, originality, relevance, and scholarly contribution of submitted manuscripts. Reviewers are selected based on their academic expertise and familiarity with the subject matter of the manuscript. The review process aims to ensure that published articles meet appropriate standards of academic quality and publication ethics.
1. Review Process
Each submitted manuscript is initially examined by the editor to assess its suitability for the journal's focus and scope, compliance with the author guidelines, originality, and basic academic quality. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to qualified reviewers for further evaluation.
The journal uses a double-blind peer-review process: reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and authors do not know the identity of the reviewers. The editorial team manages the review process and makes the final publication decision based on the reviewers' recommendations and the journal's editorial standards.
2. Review Criteria
Reviewers are asked to evaluate manuscripts according to the following criteria:
- Relevance: The manuscript fits the journal's focus and scope in Islamic studies and Islamic education.
- Originality and contribution: The manuscript offers an original contribution to knowledge or practice.
- Literature review: The manuscript engages with relevant, credible, and sufficiently current scholarly sources.
- Research methodology: The research design, methods, data collection, and analysis are appropriate and clearly explained.
- Results and discussion: The findings are presented clearly and interpreted critically in relation to relevant literature.
- Conclusions: The conclusions are supported by the findings and address the research objectives.
- Writing and references: The manuscript is clearly written, well organized, and follows the journal's citation and reference requirements.
- Research and publication ethics: The manuscript demonstrates appropriate ethical conduct and proper attribution of sources.
3. Reviewer Responsibilities
- Conduct reviews objectively, fairly, and within the agreed deadline.
- Provide constructive comments that can help authors improve their manuscripts.
- Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and all information obtained during the review process.
- Declare any potential conflicts of interest and decline the assignment when impartiality may be compromised.
- Inform the editor of suspected plagiarism, redundant publication, data manipulation, or other possible ethical violations.
- Do not use unpublished material from a manuscript for personal research or professional advantage.
4. Editorial Decisions
The editorial decision may take one of the following forms:
- Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication without major changes.
- Minor Revision: The manuscript requires limited revisions before a final decision.
- Major Revision: The manuscript requires substantial revisions and may be sent for further review.
- Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal's requirements or standards for publication.
Reviewers provide recommendations and comments, while the final decision rests with the editor. A revision request does not guarantee acceptance. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further assessment when necessary.
5. Confidentiality and Publication Ethics
All manuscripts under review are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers and editors must protect the integrity of the review process, avoid conflicts of interest, and follow recognized publication ethics standards, including relevant guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
6. Review Timeline
Reviewers are expected to complete their evaluations within the deadline established by the editorial team. The overall review duration may vary depending on reviewer availability, the complexity of the manuscript, and the extent of revisions required.
Intiqad: Jurnal Agama dan Pendidikan Islam is committed to conducting a fair, confidential, transparent, and academically rigorous peer-review process to maintain the quality and integrity of its scholarly publications.
