B. Structure of the Manuscript
Research articles should generally follow the structure below. Authors may adapt the structure where appropriate to the research design and article type, subject to editorial requirements.
1. Title
The title should be concise, informative, specific, and representative of the article's main topic. It should clearly communicate the subject of the research without unnecessary words or unexplained abbreviations.
2. Abstract and Keywords
The abstract should contain 150–200 words and briefly explain the research objectives, methods, main findings, and conclusion. It should be understandable without requiring readers to consult the full article.
Provide relevant keywords in Indonesian and English, as applicable. Keywords should reflect the main concepts of the article and be separated by semicolons (;).
3. Introduction
The introduction should present a structured account of the general background, research problem, relevant previous studies, research gap, scientific novelty, and research objectives or hypotheses, where applicable.
The review of previous literature should establish the state of the art and explain how the article contributes to existing knowledge. Rather than presenting an extended standalone literature-review section, authors should integrate relevant previous studies into the introduction to demonstrate the novelty and significance of the research.
The introduction should conclude with a clear statement of the research objectives or questions and, where appropriate, the research hypotheses.
4. Method
The method section should explain how the research problem was addressed. It must be clear, structured, sufficiently detailed, and appropriate to the research objectives.
Depending on the research design, this section may include:
- Research design and approach.
- Research setting, participants, population, or data sources.
- Sampling techniques or participant-selection procedures, where applicable.
- Research instruments and data-collection procedures.
- Data-analysis techniques.
- Ethical approval and participant-protection procedures, where applicable.
The information provided should enable readers to understand how the study was conducted and assess the appropriateness of the methods used.
5. Results
The results section should present the research findings in accordance with the methods described. Findings must be supported by sufficient and relevant data or evidence.
Use tables, figures, statistical results, quotations, or other forms of evidence when appropriate. Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively, clearly titled, and referred to in the text.
This section should focus on reporting the findings objectively. Interpretation, explanation, and comparison with previous studies should primarily be presented in the Discussion section.
6. Discussion
The discussion should interpret the research findings rather than merely repeat the results. Authors should explain the meaning and significance of the findings, why particular outcomes may have occurred, and how the findings relate to the research questions or hypotheses.
The discussion should:
- Explain the significance of the main findings.
- Interpret patterns, relationships, or differences identified in the data.
- Relate the findings to relevant theories and previous studies.
- Explain similarities or differences between the present findings and those reported by other researchers.
- Discuss the theoretical, practical, or educational implications of the findings.
- Identify relevant limitations where appropriate.
Arguments should be supported by evidence and scholarly literature. The discussion must demonstrate critical analysis and explain the contribution of the research to Islamic religious education or other relevant fields within the journal's scope.
7. Conclusion
The conclusion should summarize the main answers to the research questions, objectives, or hypotheses. It should emphasize the principal scientific findings and their significance rather than repeat the results and discussion verbatim.
Where appropriate, authors may include practical implications, study limitations, or suggestions for further research. Any recommendations should be consistent with the findings presented in the article.
8. References
All sources cited in the manuscript must appear in the References section, and every entry in the References section must be cited in the main text.
The journal applies the following reference requirements:
- Each manuscript must contain at least 15 references.
- At least 80% of the total references should consist of primary scholarly sources, particularly articles published in scientific journals.
- Priority should be given to relevant scholarly sources published within the five years preceding the manuscript's submission, while seminal works may be included when necessary.
- References must follow APA 7th edition.
- DOIs should be included when available, preferably in the format https://doi.org/xxxxx.
- Authors should use Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote, or another reference-management application to maintain consistency.
